The most famous of the ancient societies that revered the blue lotus was that of the ancient Egyptians.

Blue Lotus is a powerhouse of antioxidants and other nutrients that have been beneficial for humanity for centuries. The Blue Lotus is a subtle plant and the effects are not as heavy as you might expect from such a legendary substance. The blue lotus high provides a mild sense of tranquillity and euphoria, along with an altered sense of awareness.

People have reported feeling the following after drinking blue lotus tea or smoking the flower:

The flower can be used as a sleep aid, to reduce anxiety and as a stress reliever. Blue Lotus is hypothesised to contain nuciferan (a natural anti-spasmodic) along with aporphine, which will give you feelings of calming euphoria.

Studies have shown that an alkaloid named nuciferine found in the blue lotus helps to regulate insulin secretion. Along with this, it also lowers the probability of cardiovascular diseases by reducing cholesterol levels in the body. But this plant should not be consumed if the person takes anti-diabetes medication such as insulin or else the blood sugar levels may go down to a dangerous level.

Do not be taken during pregnancy or if you have certain allergies. If you are on other medications, then it should be consumed only after a consultation with your medical professional.
